Today’s grrr is brought to you by Mother Nature.

It has rained here in the Middle of Nowhere every day for the past 10 days. It is raining now. Not a light rain, as the graphic implies, but a steady pour.

On the one hand, I still haven’t had to water the newly planted garden space. So that’s a good thing.

On the other, though, I haven’t mowed the grass in 11 days. You can just imagine how lovely it’s looking about now.

And that explains the recent treadmill workouts, as well. If I’d registered and paid for a race, I’d certainly run in the rain. My preference, however, is not to, and so the treadmill and I have a date again today.

Maybe you will get sunshine tomorrow. We in OK had 10 straight days of rain and yesterday was our first sun day. Today also, yea! I was beginning to feel depressed and just knew it was all the cloudy weather.

This stupid non-stop rain business is hitting everyone. I know rain is important, especially as I watch raging forest fires in other parts of the country. But 10 days of rain definitely crimps my style, too. Yayyy for having a treadmill, though, so you can keep going anyway.

Update on the water: the circuit breaker tripped, either due to a power surge when the electricity came back on last night OR when lightning struck in the area. My neighbor's electric fence control box got hit in the same area. He was able to reset the circuit breaker for us and we have WATER! I think I'll go do a load of laundry. Heh.

And the winner is …

Kitten with a Whiplash, who left two comments and it was the second (which had nothing to do with the contest) which won the prize. Congratulations, and since the Kitten was the only commenter who expressed any interest in actually winning it, I'm so glad the Universe took care of it. Heh.

What a weekend! But first, how was yours? I hope you did some fun stuff and got some necessary stuff done, as well. It's all about balance.

Saturday was our fun day (but we had to drive, drive, drive to get there and then drive, drive, drive home again, all in one day, boy was I tired). We went to my husband's granddaughter's first birthday party. In addition to a sweet little doll, suitable for ages 0+ (meaning it has no parts that will come loose, and do you know how difficult it is to find dolls for babies when you live in the Middle of Nowhere?), I made her this:

I haven't sewn anything in a month of Sundays, so was a little apprehensive about finishing it on time, but this p…

I seriously thought this was sponsored by a drug company

My gingersnapping friend posted results of an online personality test, which clearly indicate she is in need of some serious therapy. Since I'm extremely well-adjusted and my psychiatrist husband hasn't pointed out any of my defects (lately), I decided to take it, as well.

Whew! At least I'm not paranoid. I was really worried about that. Heh.

Similar tests on the internets are sponsored by drug companies. (This one apparently isn't.) They want you to be sick so you'll ask your doctor for their drugs. There are quizzes for disorders that you can physically test – blood pressure, diabetes – and for symptomatic conditions – pain, depression. Since I'm no…
