Feeling my age

It's difficult for me to actually believe I'm 58. I don't look my age, I don't act my age, I don't (usually) feel my age. After yesterday, though, I'm thinking perhaps I need to realize that most 58-year-old overweight women aren't as active as I am for a reason.

I'm not quitting, no, no, no, but I was so sick and so tired after yesterday's eight miles that I literally had to lie down on the cool (clean) tile floor of the bathroom for about 10 minutes before I felt even remotely normal. My body temperature was very low, but I felt like I was burning up internally. Very scary.

Don't tell my husband. He'll make me stop. Heh.

And you should have seen me trying to get off the floor and back into a standing position. Getting old sucks.

But I guess it beats the alternative.

I am 28 years old and cannot currently run 8 miles, so big props to you! I've got 30 years to get as fit as you :)

Hey, it's HOT and HUMID here. I'm worried about BF's daughters who are out doing marches for band. Even in the early evening, it's hot as H-E-double toothpicks. You did great but be careful!

Had to laugh at getting up off the floor! I'm 45 and feel about 95 when I'm trying to get out of the bathtub after a rare bath (thank goodness for showers!)

Great on the eight miles! You'll know when it's time to stop next time so you don't get that hot.

Have a great weekend.

Eight miles is awesome but probably best not to do it on brutally hot and humid afternoon. You clearly love how you usually feel during and after a walk and your body gave you lots of feedback that things were different this time. Be careful!

Baby, I feel for you! I'm 48 and realizing that Things Are Different now. The good part is, the physical activity, not resting, is what keeps the body young. You are awesome for doing what you do at any age.
