I was reading "Artful Blogger" today and came across a blog you may already know about, but I think you would love it. Focus is knitting and other needle work and she is so sweet.

Thought I would share. I want to use my yarn on a sewn gift bag like she shows. I may have to teach myself to pick up some needles one day. She makes it sound like I can learn it.

Knitting isn't exactly easy, but all you need to master are six thing: casting on, casting off, increasing, decreasing, knitting and purling. With those techniques, and a little pattern reading skills, you can make some lovely and useful things. I've been knitting since I was 9, and I taught one of my granddaughters when she was 4 or 5. I want a progress report!

Totally lucky shot, Audrey. I was walking on an elevated road, looking down on the tracks. The train was moving at a snail's pace and the sun was shining right in my eyes. Also, my glasses, which transition from light to dark, were completely dark, so I couldn't see a darned thing. All I did was point the phone in the general direction of the train and hope for the best. Sometimes – and this is one of those times – I think a phone camera does a better job than a fancy DSLR.
Thanks Debbi. I am thinking I will try it this year and let you know how I do. I have a friend here who probably can go over these points with me one at a time. I see people making lovely little flowers for their cards and here I am buying them at $3... hmmm...
Oh, my gosh, with $3 worth of yarn and a crochet hook (flowers are easier to crochet than to knit) you could have enough flowers for 100 cards! Try this video:
